A Story Worth Knowing.
From Carriages to Apple Butter
The year a cider press changed the course of the Bauman family business.
In 1892, John W. Bauman purchased a cider press and installed it inside his carriage-manufacturing shop in Pennsylvania.
Before long, the press was doing more than making cider. Using a traditional family recipe, Bauman began making apple butter for neighboring farmers.
