Caramel
Kitchen
What started with six jars on a kitchen stove became a family caramel business built around simple ingredients and plenty of patience.
From coffee and pancakes to brownies, apples and ice cream, Caramel Kitchen turns traditional caramel into something meant to be poured, stirred, shared and enjoyed.
Jars at a time.
That's where the story began.
Where It Began
jars per batch
Before commercial kitchens and larger kettles, there was a stove and a very small batch of caramel.
Six Jars
at a Time
Caramel Kitchen began with founder Stephanie making salted caramel in her own kitchen.
What started as something made for herself quickly became something worth sharing. Friends and neighbors wanted jars of their own, and those requests kept coming.
With encouragement from her husband, Brad, the small kitchen project began turning into a business. In the early days, production meant making caramel just six jars at a time on the family stove.
As demand grew, the operation grew with it—from multiple pots, to a dedicated garage kitchen, to larger kettles and eventually commercial production. The scale changed. The idea behind the caramel did not.
The first small batches were made at home.
A batch was once measured in only a handful of bottles.
Growing demand called for more dedicated space.
The process grew without losing its handcrafted roots.
Caramel Made the Traditional Way
Caramel Doesn't Need a Long Ingredient List
Traditional caramel starts with a few familiar ingredients and lets heat, timing and technique do the rest.
Cane Sugar
The foundation that develops the deep, toasted sweetness of caramel.
Butter
Richness and body give the sauce its familiar indulgent character.
Heavy Cream
Transforms cooked sugar into a smooth, pourable sauce.
Sea Salt
A little salt brings balance and helps the caramel taste more complex.
Vanilla
Adds warmth and rounds out the final flavor.
An Award-Winning Original
Salted Caramel

Why We Chose
Caramel Kitchen
A great gift should invite the recipient to do something with what is inside.
Caramel Kitchen checks many of the boxes we look for in a Gift With a Story partner: a family business, a humble beginning, traditional ingredients and a maker story worth passing along.
The sauces also have another advantage—they are incredibly useful. Stir them into coffee. Drizzle them over pancakes. Add them to hot chocolate. Spoon them onto ice cream. Bake with them. Pair them with apples.
The scale of the kitchen changed. The pleasure of making something worth sharing stayed the same.

Not Everything Indulgent
Came in a Bottle
During the dry years, America certainly did not give up its sweet tooth. Coffeehouses, soda fountains, hotel dining rooms and family kitchens continued serving the candies, cakes, sauces and desserts that made everyday life a little more indulgent.
That spirit is why Caramel Kitchen fits naturally into our Prohibition-inspired gifts: handcrafted, unexpected and just indulgent enough to feel like a little sweet contraband.
