How Gift With a Story Began
Gift With a Story grew from The Marketplace at The Square in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, where we were already bringing together local products, small American businesses, heritage brands, and items with histories worth sharing. We began to see that these products could become more than something placed in a gift box—they could be part of a complete experience.
Located inside a former bank building dating to 1926, The Square brings several community-focused businesses together under one historic roof. That setting helped inspire the character behind Gift With a Story: a mix of local tradition, American history, and a little Prohibition-era imagination.
From there, the idea was simple. Carefully choose products with real stories, bring them together in memorable collections, and give each recipient something meaningful to discover long after the box is opened.

Why Prohibition?
The Prohibition era gives Gift With a Story much of its personality. The 1920s were filled with hidden gatherings, whispered passwords, creative rule-breaking, and small indulgences enjoyed behind closed doors. That sense of mystery and imagination became the perfect inspiration for turning an ordinary gift into something more memorable.
We bring that atmosphere to life through bootlegger-themed crates, heat-reveal mugs with hidden images, Prohibition-inspired candles, and custom occasion stories that make each delivery feel like a secret package.
