Pilsudski Mustard
Bold mustard, fresh horseradish, and a Pennsylvania family recipe that refuses to be background flavor.
From the original Polish Style Mustard with Horseradish to dill pickle, sweet hot, smoky pepper, and decidedly spicier creations, Pilsudski makes mustard meant to be noticed.
Great-grandmother Betty’s recipe begins a family mustard tradition.
Where the Flavor Began
A family recipe pairing brown mustard with the unmistakable bite of horseradish.
The Original Had a Little Kick.
The Pilsudski mustard story begins with great-grandmother Betty and a family recipe dating back to 1977.
The signature combination brought together traditional brown mustard and fresh horseradish, creating something tangy, peppery, and considerably bolder than ordinary yellow mustard.
It was the kind of condiment made for foods with character: kielbasa, sausages, roast meats, sandwiches, cheese, and, of course, pretzels.
That Polish Style Mustard with Horseradish would eventually become the foundation for an entire family of flavors.
Great-grandmother Betty’s original mustard recipe begins the tradition.
Brown mustard meets fresh horseradish and plenty of character.

The Family Behind the Jar
From Betty’s Recipe to a Modern Mustard Company.
The recipe came first. The modern company came later.
Mike Marcinko grew up around his family’s food distribution and manufacturing business, learning the industry from the kitchen to purchasing and management.
In 2015, he formed Pilsudski LLC and focused on the family’s specialty mustard and horseradish traditions.
The business started with one mustard flavor and fewer than fifty local customers. It has since expanded into a broader line of mustards and specialty products reaching customers well beyond southeastern Pennsylvania.
The recipe came first. The company came later. The family flavor is what connects the two.
The Pilsudski family storyThe Mustard That Started It
Brown Mustard Meets Horseradish.
The original Pilsudski formula works because neither ingredient disappears.
Brown Mustard
Deeper, more assertive mustard flavor than the familiar bright-yellow ballpark style.
Fresh Horseradish
A sharp, peppery bite that rises quickly and gives the mustard its signature punch.
Bold Without Hiding the Food
The mustard adds heat and tang while still letting sausages, pretzels, and meats taste like themselves.
Made to Be Used
It belongs beside sandwiches, roast meats, cheese, pretzels, sausages, and the everyday foods already on the table.
Selected for a Reason
Why We Chose Pilsudski Mustard.
Some gifts need something sweet. Others need something sharp enough to wake up the whole box.
Pilsudski gives us a Pennsylvania-made condiment with a genuine family story, a distinctive original recipe, and enough variety to make the product useful well beyond a single meal.
It also pairs naturally with other makers we already feature— especially Martin’s Handmade Pretzels.
That is exactly what we want from a partner: a product that tells its own story while helping us connect several American food traditions inside one gift.
A good mustard should do more than sit beside the pretzel. It should make you notice it.

Mustard Was Waiting for Martin’s Pretzels.
Some partnerships do not need a complicated recipe.
Martin’s brings the hard sourdough crunch. Pilsudski brings mustard, horseradish, pickle, pepper, and heat.
Together, they create one of the simplest and most satisfying combinations we can put into a Gift With a Story box.
They also tell two different Pennsylvania food stories side by side: an old handmade pretzel tradition and a family mustard recipe that became a modern specialty-food company.
Pretzel crunch. Mustard tang. Two Pennsylvania stories in one bite.

Still Selling Face to Face
A Pennsylvania Farm-Market Business.
For all the places the mustard travels, there is still a local counter behind the story.
Pilsudski operates a stand at the Shillington Farmers Market in Berks County, continuing a particularly Pennsylvania way of discovering specialty foods: tasting them directly from the people who sell them.
It gives the modern company an important connection to the same kind of local food culture that helped generations of regional family businesses grow.
A Familiar American Condiment
THEMUSTARD
POT
A Condiment With a Much Older Story.
Pilsudski itself is a modern Pennsylvania family brand, but mustard has been sitting beside meats, sausages, and breads for centuries.
Immigrant food traditions carried countless versions of mustard into American kitchens, butcher shops, and neighborhood markets.
Pilsudski belongs to that continuing story: a Pennsylvania family taking the familiar mustard jar and giving it a distinctly bold, horseradish-forward personality.
