A Gift With a Story Character
Meet
Sugarfoot
Most bootleggers worried about what was in the bottle. Sugarfoot knew where to find the candy.
Silas “Sugarfoot” Morelli is our fictional keeper of the sweet stuff—a backroom character inspired by the candy counters, bottling works, five-and-dimes and everyday indulgences of the Prohibition era.
The Story Behind the Stash
While the Country Went Dry, Sugarfoot Kept Things Sweet.
In Sugarfoot's world, the best deliveries did not arrive in whiskey barrels. They came wrapped in paper, tucked into candy boxes and packed beside bottles of old-fashioned soda.
His shipments were never quite the same twice. There might be a familiar candy bar, an oddball sweet from another part of the country, something chewy, something chocolate-covered and always one item nobody expected.
That is the idea behind Sugarfoot today: not a historical figure, but a fictional guide through the sweeter side of American nostalgia.
The Legend Is Fiction. The Candy Is Real.
The Vintage Candy Counter
The candies in Sugarfoot's stash come from the real history of the American candy counter. Some were already familiar long before Prohibition. Others arrived during the 1920s, the Depression years and the decades that followed.
Baby Ruth, Abba-Zaba, Goldenberg's Peanut Chews, Milk Duds, Idaho Spud, Zero Bar and other rotating favorites each bring a different piece of that history to the box.

Every Sweet Comes With a Story.
Inside Sugarfoot's Sweet Contraband, the candy is not just packed into the box and forgotten. The accompanying Contraband Ledger introduces the sweets, their eras and the stories that made them part of American candy history.

One rotating vintage sweet because Sugarfoot's stash should never be completely predictable.
When Candy Met Fizz
From the Bottling Works
A proper Sugarfoot shipment needs something to wash down the candy. Reading Soda Works brings old-fashioned glass-bottle soda and a Pennsylvania bottling story to the collection.
The recipient chooses their flavors, giving each shipment its own combination of fizz and sweets.
