Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn
Bold flavor, serious crunch, and a family popcorn business that grew from a small shed into a Lancaster County destination.
Emma’s began with one woman trying to recreate a popcorn she missed. Friends and family loved what came out of the kitchen, and a craving gradually became a family business filled with sweet, savory, chocolate-covered, and distinctly Pennsylvania flavors.
A homemade craving becomes a family popcorn business.
Where It Began
Emma Fisher starts making popcorn at home after a favorite treat disappears from her everyday life.
A Craving Turned Into a Family Business.
Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn was founded in 2006 by Emma Fisher.
One of Emma’s former jobs had sold a version of the popcorn she loved. When that business moved away, she no longer had easy access to it—so she began making popcorn herself.
Friends and family quickly fell for her popcorn and chocolate creations. What began as something made to satisfy a craving became something other people wanted too.
The first business operated from a small shed on Emma’s home property. It was a modest beginning for a maker that would eventually become a destination for popcorn lovers throughout Lancaster County and beyond.
Emma Fisher begins making popcorn and launches the business from a small shed on her home property.
Emma retires, and the family moves the business to their home while keeping her name on the popcorn.
The business moves to a much larger location along Route 340 in Lancaster County.
Popcorn, local foods, gifts, samples, crepes, and a store experience built around discovering something delicious.
Built the Family-Business Way
First a Shed. Then the House. Then Something Bigger.
Emma’s did not begin with a factory or a polished retail store. It grew because people kept wanting more popcorn.
After Emma retired in 2010, the next generation moved the business to their own home and kept the Emma’s name.
More flavors followed. More stores began carrying the products. The family expanded the basement to make room for retail, but eventually the business simply outgrew the house.
In August 2022, Emma’s moved to a larger location along Route 340, sharing a building with Lapp Valley Ice Cream and creating room for a much more complete retail experience.
One homemade popcorn craving kept growing until the family needed a whole store to hold it.

Simple Standards Behind a Lot of Flavor.
Emma’s builds its popcorn around a few clear choices: real sugar, coconut oil, non-GMO popcorn, and a commitment to products that taste fresh.
Non-GMO Popcorn
The starting point is the popcorn itself, ready to carry everything from butter to caramel.
Coconut Oil
Emma’s says all of its popcorn is popped in coconut oil.
Real Sugar
Real sugar is used to flavor and caramelize the company’s gourmet popcorn.
Fresh & Flavor-Forward
The goal is not subtle popcorn. Emma’s builds flavors meant to be noticed from the first handful.
Selected for a Reason
Why We Chose Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn.
A good gift needs something the recipient wants to open immediately. Popcorn handles that job very well.
Emma’s gives us a Pennsylvania family-business story, a product that feels generous and familiar, and enough flavor range to make one popcorn experience feel completely different from another.
We also like how naturally it works with the rest of our pantry. Popcorn can sit beside soda, candy, coffee, pretzels, mustard, or a whole movie-night spread without feeling out of place.
And because Emma’s itself grew from sharing something delicious with friends and family, the product already has gifting built into its story.
Some gifts need ceremony. Others just need someone to open the bag and pass it around.

Choose Their Popcorn.
Three very different directions: old-fashioned savory, classic butter, or sweet-and-savory together.
The Lancaster County Pick
Amish Homestyle
Garlic · Salt · Pepper · Savory
A savory popcorn built around garlic, salt, pepper, and brewer’s yeast—the flavor Emma’s says recalls an older way of seasoning popcorn.
The Familiar Favorite
Buttered
Buttery · Salty · Classic
The uncomplicated choice for someone who believes good popcorn does not need much explaining.
The Two-in-One
Emma’s Signature Blend
Caramel · Sweet Cheddar · Sweet & Savory
Emma’s combines its caramel popcorn with Sweet Cheddar for the kind of mix that keeps switching between sweet and savory from handful to handful.

Emma’s Signature BlendMore Than a Popcorn Shelf
The Store Became Part of the Experience.
Emma’s current home gives the family room to do much more than sell bags of popcorn.
The Gordonville store invites visitors to sample flavors before choosing their favorites. The shelves also include locally made snacks, gifts, and home décor.
There is even a Crepe Shack serving sweet and savory crepes, along with drinks, plus a fireplace area where visitors can sit and enjoy what they ordered.
That makes Emma’s feel less like a warehouse for snacks and more like what a good Lancaster County food stop should be: something worth making part of the trip.
Taste a few flavors. Find a favorite. Then take some Lancaster County home with you.

PAA Modern Maker in a Region That Takes Food Seriously.
Emma’s is a modern company, not a centuries-old Pennsylvania Dutch business. Its story begins in 2006.
But its Lancaster County setting still matters. This is a region where visitors expect farm markets, bakeries, roadside food stops, family businesses, and products worth taking home.
Emma’s fits comfortably into that landscape: a family maker that started small, built a following, and turned a snack into something people seek out, share, and give.
That is the connection we want to preserve—not an invented old-time history, but a newer Pennsylvania food tradition growing in a place already famous for them.
