A Signature Story Gift
Before snacks arrived by the aisle-full, they were discovered one counter at a time—fresh popcorn at the picture show, hard pretzels from the neighborhood bakery and brightly wrapped candy waiting beside the register.
The American Snack Counter brings those familiar traditions together in one generous gift. It begins with two flavors of Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn: one sweet and one savory, chosen especially for the person receiving it.
We add old-fashioned Martin’s hard pretzels and a specially packed Vintage Theater Candy Box filled with Junior Mints, Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews and a Boyer Mallo Cup.
And wherever there was a candy counter, there was always someone who knew which treats were worth keeping out of sight.
In our stories, that someone is Sugarfoot—our fictional keeper of the hidden candy stash. He had a soft spot for the sweets tucked behind the counter, the unusual pieces saved for regular customers and anything good enough to make its way into a coat pocket before closing time.
Sugarfoot may not have assembled this entire snack counter himself, but we suspect he had something to do with the candy box hidden inside it.
The result is part movie counter, part neighborhood candy shop and part family snack cupboard—a collection made for opening, passing around and discovering one story and one snack at a time.

Meet the Makers & Discover the Story
This gift brings together a Lancaster County popcorn maker, a New York hard-pretzel tradition and three candies with deep roots in the American snack counter.
Gordonville, Pennsylvania
In the heart of Lancaster County, Emma’s turns popcorn into something worth exploring. Its small-batch collection stretches from familiar caramel favorites to imaginative sweet, savory and seasonal flavors.
We chose Emma’s because one flavor is never the whole story. Pairing a sweet selection with a savory selection lets the recipient experience two different sides of the maker.
Meet Emma’s Gourmet PopcornNew York
Martin’s hard pretzels bring a different kind of crunch to the counter—substantial, deeply toasted and rooted in an old-fashioned regional baking tradition.
Alongside Emma’s light, flavorful popcorn, the pretzels give the collection contrast and substance while preserving another snack made for passing around and sharing.
Meet Martin’s Handmade PretzelsInside the Vintage Theater Candy Box
Junior Mints have been associated with the movie theater since their introduction in 1949 and are still produced in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their familiar theater box gives this collection an unmistakable night-at-the-pictures touch.
Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews bring a Pennsylvania candy story dating to 1917, combining roasted peanuts and molasses in individually wrapped, chocolatey bites.
The Mallo Cup completes the trio with another Pennsylvania tradition. Boyer has produced its marshmallow-filled chocolate cups in Altoona since 1936.
Together, the three candies turn a few familiar sweets into a miniature tour of the American theater and neighborhood candy counter.
