Red Door
Coffee
Coffees from around the world, roasted close to home in Pennsylvania.
Red Door Coffee brings together specialty-grade Arabica beans, careful small-batch roasting and a simple idea that has always belonged with coffee: make people feel welcome.
The red door represents something coffee has always done well: welcome people in.
Roasted in the Lehigh Valley

A Local Roaster With
a World of Coffee
Red Door Coffee Roaster opened in Center Valley, Pennsylvania in 2017.
The coffee itself begins much farther away. Beans arrive from some of the world's best-known coffee-growing regions— Colombia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Sumatra, Peru, Brazil and beyond.
What happens next is local. The beans are roasted in small batches in the Lehigh Valley, with each origin treated according to the character already inside the bean.
That combination is what makes Red Door especially interesting to us: a global agricultural product transformed into something distinctly local.

Why a Red Door?
Coffee Has Always Been a Gesture of Welcome.
The name was chosen for more than its color.
Red Door Coffee explains its name through an old symbol of hospitality: a red door signaling that travelers could find welcome, food, and rest inside.
Coffee has served a similar purpose for generations. We offer it when someone visits. We meet friends over a cup. We pour it after dinner. We start mornings together with it.
So the name fits remarkably well: open the red door, pour the coffee, and make room at the table.
Open the red door. Pour the coffee. Make room at the table.
The hospitality behind the nameOne Roaster · Many Origins
The Flavor Begins Before the Roast
Coffee changes dramatically depending on where it was grown. The job of the roaster is to help those differences make it all the way into the mug.
Colombia
A familiar starting point for many coffee drinkers, often prized for balance and an approachable cup.
Ethiopia
Coffees from Ethiopia can offer a more aromatic and fruit-forward side of the coffee spectrum.
Costa Rica
Known for bright, clean coffees that can bring lively character to the morning cup.
Sumatra
Often deeper, fuller and earthier— a natural choice for someone who enjoys a bolder cup.
Peru
A versatile origin that can offer a smooth, gently sweet and balanced experience.
Brazil
A major coffee-growing origin often associated with nutty, chocolate-friendly profiles.
The Local Part of the Story
From Green Bean
to Pennsylvania Roast
The bean brings the potential. Roasting decides how much of it reaches the cup.
Red Door purchases specialty-grade Arabica beans through an importer that sources and evaluates coffee from around the world.
The beans arrive green. Then heat transforms them—developing aroma, sweetness, body and the flavors we recognize as roasted coffee.
Red Door roasts throughout the week so its coffees can be enjoyed while they are still fresh.
Source. Roast. Rest. Brew. The bean travels far. The final roast happens close to home.

Why We Chose
Red Door Coffee
Some of our partners preserve national food history. Red Door gives us something closer to home.
Their coffee is roasted here in the Lehigh Valley, making it one of the local makers we can place beside older American brands in the same gift.
We also like what the product represents. Coffee isn't simply something to consume. It creates a moment: breakfast, a conversation, an afternoon pause or a reason to sit down together.
And because every origin tastes different, one maker can tell several stories— one bag at a time.
The beans travel thousands of miles. The roasting happens close to home.

While Cocktails Hid,
Coffee Stayed on the Table
Red Door Coffee did not exist during Prohibition, but coffee was everywhere throughout the era.
It was poured in diners, lunchrooms, hotel restaurants, Automats and family kitchens.
It offered something alcohol could not during the dry years: a completely legal reason to gather, linger and talk over a hot drink.
That makes coffee a natural part of our Prohibition-inspired gifts— not because it was contraband, but because it was part of the everyday life happening outside the speakeasy door.

Roasted Here in
the Lehigh Valley
The growing region may be thousands of miles away. The roaster isn't.
Red Door's roasting operation is based at Diana's Café in Center Valley, where the coffee is roasted on site.
The company has also sold its coffee through local markets and businesses, keeping a close connection to the communities around the Southern Lehigh Valley.
For Gift With a Story, that matters. It means we can pair heritage coffee brands from American history with a maker working in our own region today.
