GIFT WITH A STORY ABOUT US
AMERICAN MAKERS · MEANINGFUL HISTORIES · MADE PERSONAL

More Than Something in a Box

We Start With
a Story Worth Sending.

Gift With a Story brings together American-made products, the people and history behind them, and a personalized reason for sending the gift in the first place.

We look for products with character — small-batch makers, family businesses, regional favorites, heritage brands and American companies doing something worth discovering.

The Idea Behind Gift With a Story

A Better Gift Starts
With Something Real.

Not filler. Not an assortment chosen only because the packaging looks good. Not a generic message card added at the end.

We believe the products should be worth giving on their own, the makers should be worth knowing, and the reason for the gift should still be present after the box is opened.

What Goes Into the Experience

Three Things Make It
a Gift With a Story.

01

THE PRODUCTS

American Makers

Small businesses, regional producers, family companies and heritage names whose products bring flavor, place and character to the gift.

02

THE HISTORY

Stories Worth Knowing

Maker histories, product stories, food traditions and the American places and moments that give the items inside more meaning.

03

THE REASON

A Story Made Personal

The occasion, recipient and sender become part of the gift through the personalized story included with our story-driven gift experiences.

How Gift With a Story Began

The Idea Grew
From The Square.

Gift With a Story grew from The Marketplace at The Square in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania.

We were already bringing together local products, small American businesses, heritage brands and items with histories worth sharing. The more we worked with them, the clearer the idea became: these products could be more than things placed in a gift box. They could become part of a complete experience.

The Square itself helped shape the idea. Our home is a former Farmers Bank building dating to 1926 — a setting filled with local history, old architecture and the kind of character that makes you wonder about the stories a place has seen.

Why These Products?

We Look for More
Than Attractive Packaging.

Every product does not need to be old-fashioned. It does need to bring something meaningful to the gift.

MAKER Who made it?

Is there a real company, craft, family, community or point of view behind the product?

PLACE Where does it come from?

Does the product connect naturally to a region, tradition or part of American life?

STORY Is there something to discover?

A history, tradition, recipe, memory or detail that makes the product more interesting once you know it.

EXPERIENCE Does it belong in the gift?

Flavor and quality matter, but so does the role the product plays in the larger experience.

Why the Prohibition-Era Personality?

A Little Mystery
Makes the Story More Fun.

The 1920s give Gift With a Story some of its personality — but they do not limit the stories we tell.

The era's hidden gatherings, whispered passwords, creative rule-breaking and behind-the-door indulgences inspired the playful idea of sending a package that feels like it has a story tucked inside.

Today our stories reach far beyond Prohibition: the American Automat, New Orleans coffee, colonial tea, soda fountains, candy counters, Pennsylvania pantries, American baking traditions and more. The 1920s are part of the character — American food history is the larger canvas.
