Silas “Sugarfoot” Morelli was a smooth-talking operator of the Prohibition era who figured out early that candy was safer—and sweeter—than booze. While others ran liquor and dodged G-men, Silas built his legend smuggling nostalgic sweets across the country, keeping America smiling one candy crate at a time.
Silas specialized in the classics—old-fashioned candy bars, chewy nougats, peanut chews, taffy, licorice, and hard candies that had already been winning hearts long before Prohibition began.
